Hakata Old Town is an area that flourished as the center of Hakata, Japan's largest trading port city in medieval times, and is an area that retains a great deal of history and culture dating back to the Middle Ages.
It is known.
In order to make historical landscapes more accessible to the public, in 2006, as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Cityscape Awards,
The "Gokusho Light-up Walk" has begun.
Currently, the event is called "Hakata Old Town Light-up Walk: Millennium Sparkle" and is a seasonal autumn sight in Hakata, attracting a total of 100,000 visitors every year.

This year's theme is "Dragon" in honor of the Chinese zodiac, and each venue will be lit up with lighting inspired by dragons.
Eijuin Temple will be participating for the first time and will be opening its main hall and gardens to the public for a special event.
