Today is "Travel Day"

May 16th, the day Matsuo Basho is said to have set out on his journey from Edo, was designated as "Travel Day"!

During his travels, Basho encountered many beautiful landscapes and read many famous poems, which led him to create his masterpiece, "Oku no Hosomichi."

The "spirit of travel" is something we tend to forget in our busy days.
