Located right next to our shop is the "Former Fukuoka Prefectural Public Hall Guest House," which has been a popular spot in Fukuoka since the Meiji era.
This monument is a symbol of Fukuoka and has been designated as an Important Cultural Property by the national government.
The guest house was built in 1910 to serve as a reception center for guests at the local fair.
After that, it was used as the Fukuoka Prefectural Board of Education building.
It was once scheduled for demolition due to the establishment of the new Fukuoka Prefectural Office and the relocation of the Board of Education.
However, "It is one of the few wooden buildings in the French Renaissance style from the Meiji period that remain in Fukuoka City.
It was deemed a valuable "object" and was designated an "Important Cultural Property" by the government in 1984.
Currently, it is widely loved by the citizens of the prefecture as part of the park facilities.
Inside the building, there is the "Kihinkan Cafe" with an atmosphere reminiscent of the Meiji era,
There will also be a "Retro Costume Experience" where you can try on retro costumes that you can't experience in modern times!
The exterior is also lit up at night,
