Otojiro Kawakami 🎤

Otojiro Kawakami, who took the world by storm with his "Oppekepe Bushi" song and left a huge mark on the history of Japanese theater.
Otojiro is famous as the "father of modern theater" who traveled not only in Japan but all over the world, but did you know that he was actually born in Fukuoka?

At the entrance to Kawabata-dori Shopping Street, close to our store, a golden statue of Otojiro quietly stands in honour of his achievements.
