This festival, commonly known as "Tamaseseri",
A New Year's ritual representative of Hakata, in which participants compete to grab a wooden ball which is said to bring good fortune to those who touch it.

The sight of the men clad in traditional traditional attire colliding violently with each other is truly overwhelming.
