Kushida Shrine, the guardian shrine of Hakata and located near our store, is holding its Setsubun Festival for the first time in three years.
Speaking of Setsubun at Kushida Shrine, there's the giant Otafuku mask, said to be the largest in Japan.
It is said that if you pray through the open mouth, you will be granted good fortune such as "prosperity in business" and "safety in the home."

Another fun part of the Setsubun event is eating Ehomaki.
Apparently eating the whole thing in one go is said to bring good luck for the year.
This year's lucky direction is south-southeast💁↘️
