[Yamakasa Taboo] No Cucumbers🥒

[Yamakasa Taboo] No Cucumbers🥒
Because the cut surface of a cucumber resembles the divine crest of Gion-no-kami (Susanoo-no-mikoto), the deity worshipped in the Yamakasa festival, it is considered reverent to put one in one's mouth, and so cucumbers are taboo during the Yamakasa period (July 1st to 15th).
At our restaurant, we offer dishes that use cucumber by substituting other ingredients.

Mentaizuke
→ Eggplant

Mentai Irodori Salad
→ Snap peas

Please enjoy the special menu available only during this period.
We look forward to seeing you today until 22:30!
