Hakata Gion Yamakasa, a summer tradition in Fukuoka and Hakata, is back after a three-year hiatus.
During the festival, gorgeously decorated "Kazariyamakasa" floats will be displayed at 13 locations in Fukuoka city. The "Kakiyamakasa" floats, in which men dressed in traditional traditional attire race through the city, are also scheduled to make a comeback this year, making the streets of Fukuoka very lively.
